In a way this is good since each folder would most likely require different column widths. To configure the Details view, right click on the column heading. It was real easy in XP, but I cannot figure out how to do it in Win7. If so, I wish I knew what it was as there are other places where it seems that normal logic has no part in it.

This is enough to be a major add-on in itself but..I am certain it could be done. I have to slide the column separator to the right to be able to view the entire filename. This way, all your frustrations with how Windows Explorer and/or File Explorer display information will be gone.
