It showed no error, its just that after the windows logo comes, it froze in a black screen with mouse cursor visible.###I forced restart, and then it gave me the option show up on the computer hard drive or does the thumb drive act as a separate "hard drive" and nothing spills over to the main computer hard drive?

Turned out that I had to change a security setting. about two years ago I purchased a brand new PC from Dell. Again, just odd that it would boot and run fine off the thumb drive but not boot off the SSD. If not, you can get all sorts of boot errors.
I'm not talking about a pirated copy with a fake license. Any thoughts?
