The initial "Checking for updates..." phase for my July 2016 Patch Tuesday updates completed in ~ 20 min (compared to 5 or 6 hours for April and May) and my entire Once "Checking for updates..." finished around the 40 min mark, download and installation of 13 important updates completed between the 40 and 10 min marks. EDIT: I should also note that Microsoft released a patch in June 2016 for the Win 7 Windows Update Agent (WUA) that appears to be a permanent fix for Win Once, the log reported "user declined installing updates at shutdown." After installing the updates (from the list) I was missing, it changed updating time on my dual core laptop, from never finishing to finding ~ 30 updates in 15 min.
