IT WOULD AT LEAST SEEM AS IF ONE COULD USE THE BACKUP TO GET FILES FROM WHEN EVER THEY WANTED AS LONG AS THEIR EXTERNAL DRIVE LASTS. To do this legitimately, you'll need to purchase a Windows 7 or 8.1 license and install it from scratch, entering the product key you purchased during the install process.
