You make it sound like no one could have ever possibly imagined needing above 32 bits. There were rumours sometime back that next Windows would not even be 32, just 64. RAM isn't an issue for me because I never use all of my RAM. I am one who can speed through 5 different browsers running multiple windows in excess of 50 tabs in each and do not tell me it cannot be done fast enough
If currently we need to adds a 128 bits number, then we do it as a 64 bits number and then as another 64 bits number.
